The voice of this (fashion) generation

Put this in the magazine: There’s nothing more to be said about music. I’m the f—ing end-all, be-all of music. I know what I’m doing. I did 808s in three weeks. I got it. It’s on cruise control. . . . Man, we talked about music for God knows how long! Now let’s talk about how my f—ing sweater didn’t come back right from Korea. That’s what’s interesting me.

Citing Marc Jacobs as his idol, Kanye West is ready to leave music world and conquer the fashion world... Absurd, it may seem. But how much of it is true? Can his ego carry him towards the whole transition? Are we losing a music talent but gaining another fashion re-inventor? I find it hard to swallow just as the news of Joaquin Phoenix's decision to stop being an actor to become a rapper. Do you support their decisions to cross over? Will they succeed?

Truth be told, he has been meddling in fashion for quite some time now. Blogging (sans words) about fashion in his blog, collaborated with Louis Vuitton for a line of sneakers, a frequent at Fashion Week front row and own line; Pastelle **. He also announced his intention of becoming a fashion intern.

Read Kanye's interview in Details mag *here*.

** Dazed Digital reported that Pastelle will be launching a womenswear line and upcoming jewellery collaboration with Takashi Murakami.

Could he be the voice of this fashion generation?

That story about Jaoquin is just bizarre and his appearance on the Letterman show even more so! But I think Kanye may do well in fashion. But I guess only time will tell...
