Olivia Palermo x Mango Fall 2010
Most of you who watch MTV,.. MTV The Hills may know the cool and always style-composed Olivia Palermo. For MNG FALL 2010 lookbook, she made an appearance along with her model boyfriend, Johannes Huebl.

She looks like her usual glam up self, but I think the makeup is a bit dracula-ish and makes her aged a lot.

Sweet 16 - redefined

Look Ma, I'm hot
This is Taylor Momsen (of Gossip Girls fame) celebrating her sweet sixteen birthday in a bra and sheer lingerie. This is not the role model I want my kids to look up to (not that I have any kids yet).
But come on, sixteen?! You still have a long road of oozing out excessive sexiness (read : scanty outfits). Dress appropriately, dress your age.

That's a first...
Can you recognize these women?

French Elle magazine April issue had 8 stars sans make-up and also entirely without photoshop retouching. Kudos to Elle! It was said that European magazines are far more forgiving than their neighbouring country - America. Last year, Italian Vogue came out with an sold out issue featuring all-black models.
It's about time to embrace on natural beauty than put a loadful of gunk on your face. Trust me, there is no walking photoshop to erase all those crease, wrinkles, dark spots and cellulite. Although it maybe only one issue out of twelve in a year, it could mean things will change soon.
Do you think Elle's current issue be a sell out too? I bet it will.
News from here.

Asia's top fashionista
Jolin Tsai - known as one of the most successful and popular singers in the Mandarin music Asian market. And of course when you are a famous celebrity, naturally you are one fashionista. Here she is looking all pretty.
Not. Yes she is good at making best selling records, but I am not so sure her fashion choices.

"I inspired to look like an amoeba or protozoa what-not all the time!"
"And i care very much for the environment, hence i only support recycling this rubbish bag."
"on better days, I have a stylist whom work with me. Don't you think I look pretty here...
.., here
and here?"
"Peace out! I am Asia's most photographed fashionista!"

Wallace & Gromit for Harvey Nichols
The wittiest, cracking clay characters traded their usual togs for more fashionable ones and struck poses for Harvey Nichols ads / posters.
Gone are Wallace's mouldy tweed jackets and knitted vests. Lady Tottington is finally sensible enough not to dress in some vegetable resemblance. And scarfs and cool sunnies for the naturally naked Gromit!
Too adorable, these! ~
Wallace is in a woolen Prince of Wales check grey two-piece suit by Paul Smith while Gromit wears a pair of Ray Ban wayfarer sunglasses and purple stripe silk scarf by Duchamp.
Lady Tottington wears a black draped jersey 'Acorn' dress by Alexander McQueen, red patent 'Triclo' shoes by Christian Louboutin and metallic bronze 'Puffy' bag by Zagliani.
Wallace, all suave in navy cashmere jacket and silk tapered trousers by Alexander McQueen, Dolce & Gabbana fitted white shirt and Giorgio Armani tie. Gromit wears navy silk Paul Smith scarf.
Campaign created by DDB London

Wardrobe of the Year
There are many times, when I watch a movie; I try to take note of the wardrobe styles. Most times, it’s not so wearable because it is not so easily translated into real life look. The recent hype of fashion movies, (think: Devil Wears Prada, Sex and the City: The Movie) just keeps escalating my need to shop. Nah, I think more like looking fab than to shop. I know it’s the movie, they do have stylists to prep them up. But (really) the lack of support (staff) and laziness is not acceptable.
Recent non-fashion movie but a lot of styles to emulate is What Happens in Vegas. It’s so inspiring, maybe it’s Diaz’s hot body.

Her wardrobe consists of simple (read: effortless) outfits. Looks worn by Diaz are very (classically) contemporary. She carried it off well because it really looks like Diaz's real life style. It’s suitable for our tropical weather, sans layers.
Looks are very important in the corporate world. Her outfit does not cross over as too provocative in the corporate world.
Diaz was being flirty but professional with sleeveless white top and functional black pants, and sexy in high stillettos. While I am trying to channel Diaz (/ her character, Joy)’s style

Diane von Furstenberg hot-pink mini dress
My rules of dressing is always choose a simple outfit (ie. one color, simple cut) that flatters your body and never over accessorizing. Diaz totally proved my point.
