Victoria Beckham - Emporio Armani 2009 Ad Campaign

Victoria Beckham did it again. Being sexier than ever in Emporio Armani Underwear 2009 Campaign.

I love this new hair do of hers, short but yet girly in some ways.

Haram? Harem pants...

A dear friend, Yuppie constantly exclaims her wish for 2009 is for leggings to die ultimately. I solemnly agree with her, but our worse fear has yet to come.
2009’s fashion must have-s are pants. Not just any pants, but the distant cousin of leggings will hit it big. It’s actually a come back for them.

Harem pants! Yes, it’s those pants; baggy with tighten cuff at ankle and lots of excess clothe.

Seen at Spring 2009 runway at Ralph Lauren and Chloe Proenza Schouler Miss Sixty, Betsy Johnson, Nicole Miller and many more. And it was rumoured that these designers took inspiration from a famous and chic French editor, Carine Roitfeld.

I may be too conservative as compared to fashionable artsy people, but I really think it’s not design for all people.
I do not want to be stuck in the eighties trying to emulate MC Hammer or Janet Jackson in her military days.

First, the rouches does not flatter most average body.

It will make your rear big and droopy - just like you are wearing an overloaded diaper.

Unless you are tall (read: 5 feet 6 inches) and have very skinny, modelesque legs. You can look good.

By Urban Outfitters

Then, there are those cropped ones - Alibaba wanna-be

By Mango MNG

Lastly comes harem’s offspring - mad combo of harem pants and jumpsuit. What's your take?

By Thakoon

For me, I will stick to structured conventional pants. Just look at Gisele.

All harem supporters - take inspirations from here.

Shoo-away (II)

Christian Loubotin look-alike pumps
I got them for RM50 at Times Square. It fit my soles comfortably but the whole heel on one side broke while I was walking, only worn a few times. Since then I've learnt that cheap shoes really don't last long.
Bronze braided wedges, white ribboned sling backs, pink & blue kitten heels. All by Vincci.

Satin pink wraparound slingbacks, brown round toe pumps with bow. All by Vincci.
Oooooooooohhhh, my favourite sexy pair - pink slingbacks. Now that I am writing this post and looking at this picture - I am wondering why I threw this lovely pair away. It has earned me quite a few compliments from the opposite sex. I could have just send it to the cobbler to fix the the exhausted heels.
Many more by Vincci. Conned my money.
Time to bin them.

Shopping with Expectations

..... proved to be a stressful experience.

Yesterday we went hunting for the perfect pair of 'Little Black Shoes' for the housemate, who, by the way, does not quite enjoy shopping on leisurely mode. You know, the type who shop when there are needs, while I, shop when there are needs, AND wants. And it's ok for me if I don't find the exact needs or wants. There are always next time, next destination, next season, next collection, next sale, next choice, next best thing.

Not the housemate. Pressed for time and desperate for comfortable working footwear that are not HushPuppy-ish, we went on a frenzy search in One U, with a will that we MUST find THE shoes before leaving the mall.

It is ker-ray-zee, I tell you.
No joke, I tell you.

The many criteria we MUST meet :

1. comfortable.
2. black.
3. leather.
4. stiletto
5. heels not more than 2 inches high.
6. posh.
7. lasting.
8. timeless.
9. unfancy
10. won't kill for being on your feet for 12 hours.
11. shut her up from whining about sore feet at the end of everyday.

Beauty and comfort. A combination almost non-existent in shoes.
ALMOST.

There were 4 of us. Making the most noise in every shop we went to. But no worries, shoe shopping was successful. She just need to break into the them and life will go back to as was. Picture? Sorry can't be bothered to find the exact shoe. Oh it's a basic black 2-inched classy stiletto. You get the picture.

Actually all of us had quite a fruitful day at shopping. I purchased the bag. Another story. Another time ;)

Shoo-away (I)

I finally cleaned my shoe rack after numerous lectures from my mom. For the record, it was a cloudy December afternoon, complete with serious sinus attack. I hope this will stop my urges to buy more shoes.
Here are my collections.
Mary-janes. Pumps. Wedges. Ballet Flats. Sandals.
Round toes. Peep toes. Pointy toes.

Can you see the similarity?

Want of the Year #1.

Are fringes out of fashion yet? Or is it still at the height of its popularity?

Frankly I don't care. Fringes made of cheap suede are the ugliest, but if you find one made of reasonably fine suede... the movement of the fringes can be so, so lovely.

I want this :

But at RM313, I'm thinking twice, maybe more times.

Then one fine day, I might find myself crawling in the mall, I might get really stupid, I might buy it, I might use it for a couple of times then chuck at the back of my closet .............................................. O, give me strength.

I said I might.

Don't judge.

Blog Feature - Closet Therapy

The very first blog feature is Closet Therapy.
I was first introduced to a whole new virtual fashion world via this blog way back in 2006.
Her blog cover topics ranging from shopping and sales, personal style, accessories, beauty, hair, skincare and even celebrity style.
She has been blogging stealthily since 2004. In 2006, she started contributing to JANE magazine website as one of the guest blogger. However, sadly JANE magazine has been discontinued since 2007.
I am simply fascinated that there is not many of her picture plastered all over her blog. However there is one! and only picture showing her face.
I am not sure if most of her readers know how she looked like or if they actually bother about her looks. They continued to support this blog of hers, the difference of her blog is it's not as commercialize as most blog then to be (imho), just thoughts and opinions of her own personal beauty and fashion advice - which she has described her blog as a very expensive hobby. One of the most popular category is definitely her "Wearing Today". Despite the fact that there is no model for her outfits, there will still be many comments left by her faithful readers.

Her blog continues to get more readers by the day. Besides occasional news update of shopping / sample sales announcements, coupon codes, CT offer product reviews she personally uses.
Like a girlfriend offering advice, this is definitely not a blog not to be missed.

oh-nine

May 2009 brings you everything divine,
may you not get visible pantyline.
I personally hope it'll be the death of leggings,
and everything of its kind.

And of course, more shoes.
One can never have enough.

These are about all the shoes I have.
Not many compared to most of yous, so shut up.

Happy New Year!

Welcome 2009!

Happy New Year! Happy 2009! I wish everyone had great fun countdown down to a new beginning.
This year I plan to write more fashionable entries here, and not neglect this site.
Be wiser and think twice (or more) when purchasing fashion apparels.
Another tough one would be not to stock up a whole year’s worth of beauty and toiletries supply...
and lastly, take more fashion risk (when I am still young)?
Tell me about your fashion resolution.
